This pizza is a true representation of Italian culinary simplicity-perfectly baked with a crispy, yet chewy crust, topped with fresh mozzarella, basil leaves, and a drizzle of rich tomato sauce. The quality of the ingredients is immediately noticeable; the mozzarella is creamy and melt-in-your-mouth, while the tomatoes provide a tangy freshness that balances the richness of the cheese. Every bite feels like a little slice of Italy.

For anyone unfamiliar with the classic Pizza Margherita, it’s more than just a pizza. Its origins date back to Naples, where it was created in honor of Queen Margherita of Savoy. This pizza is often considered a symbol of Italy itself, with its three main ingredients representing the colors of the Italian flag: green basil, white mozzarella, and red tomatoes. At Pizza Margherita Lancaster, these ingredients are treated with respect, and their natural flavors shine through.

One of the reasons this pizza stands out in Lancaster is due to the authenticity that the kitchen strives for. The dough is made fresh daily, and it’s allowed to ferment slowly, which brings out a depth of flavor that many pizzerias overlook. The sauce is crafted from ripe, hand-picked tomatoes, offering a natural sweetness that pairs beautifully with the slight bitterness of the basil. You can taste the time and care that goes into creating such a simple, yet perfect dish.

The ambiance at Pizza Margherita Lancaster LA1 1QD is casual but inviting. The interior features rustic wooden tables, and the dΓ©cor hints at the old-world charm of Italian trattorias. Great food and fantastic, friendly service. This was one of our regular haunts when we were students at Lancaster University 40 years ago! Huge thanks to Ana for making our 40th reunion dinner so very special.

I think this is the best pizza you can get in the UK. It never disappoints and there's a wide range of toppings you can have but I always have my favorite ham and peppers. The staff are lovely and the pizzas are cooked quickly. I wish I lived down the road.

Firstly I'd like to say thank you for accommodating our gluten intolerance and the reservation for us!! The service was first class, we were made very welcome by the tall dark haired lady who was superb very attentive and patient. Also the dimming of the lights to bring out my sons dessert with a candle lit and to sing happy birthday to him was outstanding, Hes a shy lad and it made him feel very special!! Fantastic pizzas and ice cold drinks not to mention the delicious desserts .10 out of 10 Thank you all your all first class As Arnie said We ll be back!!

Popped in on a Wednesday evening with the family and really enjoyed it. We opted for the 7inch pizzas, which seem a bit small at first but filled us all up nicely. The location is great and the staff were super friendly.

I first visited this glorious pizza emporium in 1979 when it first opened and many times during my 3 years at S Martin's college. Today ,more than 40 years later I returned. Absolutely delighted to see that my favourite pizza is still on the menu and that warm chocolate fudge cake features too Won't leave it 40 years until I return.

Been a decade since I was last here. And it hasn't changed a jot! Went for a Mexicana calzoni pizza which was delicious, a slice of New York cheesecake, also delicious and a bottle of French malbec which was beautiful and full bodied. Excellent service. Forgot to take a picture of my pizza so did the next best thing and took a pic of my cleared plate to show how much I liked it!
